Flagship Program

Heritage, interpreted through handmade practice

Hamari Virasat celebrates the cultural richness of India's craft traditions. The program invites artisans from across the country to respond creatively to themes that reflect the shared heritage of the nation.

The initiative creates a platform where traditional craft practices can engage with contemporary ideas, public memory and cultural identity. Through this process, artisans are positioned not only as makers, but also as interpreters of history, society and lived experience.

75 Years of the Constitution

A collective textile exhibition shaped by artisans

The most significant project under Hamari Virasat was developed around the theme of 75 years of the Constitution of India. Artisans from different parts of the country were invited to create textile artworks reflecting their interpretation of the values and spirit of the Constitution.

Each participating artisan created a textile piece measuring one metre by one metre. Seventy-five works were selected and brought together as a collective exhibition, allowing craft to become a medium for dialogue around democracy, rights and national identity.
